MANILA, Philippines -- Motorists have been asked to take alternate routes in Pasay City as the National Capital Region Office police implemented a traffic re-routing scheme in the area where the Second Global Forum on Migration and Development was being held.

In a traffic advisory on Tuesday, Director Jefferson Soriano, NCRPO chief, said motorists going southbound Roxas Boulevard have been advised to take Gil Puyat Extension and take alternative routes to access Diosdado Macapagal Avenue.

Those going to Boom na Boom and Star City can take M. Jalandoni Street and exit through the access road on Vicente Sotto Street. Motorists bound for Sofitel Hotel and the Manila Film Center can pass through Atang dela Rama and take a u-turn along the same road upon exit, Soriano said.

Roads surrounding the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), site of the forum, namely Leona Florentino, Juan Arellano, and the latter section of Vicente Sotto are not accessible to traffic. But Pedro Bukaneg road leading to the Folk Arts Theater will remain passable, Soriano said.

The traffic re-routing scheme will take effect until October 30, he added.
