Human Trafficking of Legal and Illegal Migrant Workers in Taiwan
Regina Fuchs, Hope Workers’ Center, Taiwan, January 2011
This report explores what circumstances and conditions migrant workers (documented and undocumented) face in Taiwan that may lead them to becoming victims of human trafficking and if there are people more vulnerable than others. It takes a closer look on Taiwan’s foreign labor policies and how these policies might contribute to the risk of migrant workers falling prey to human traffickers. The report also aims to give the victims voices and to gain a deeper understanding of their perspectives and experiences.
